Libretto Cafe + Deli


Branding and Packaging (Personal Project)

This is a conceptual branding and packaging project for Libretto Cafe + Deli, a fictional coffee shop. The entire visual identity is inspired by the rich history and dramatic flair of Opera theater, aiming to create a brand experience that is both sophisticated and engaging.

 
 
  • The branding research began with exploring the world of Opera, specifically noting its heavy reliance on the orchestra and the intentionally overdramatized character performances.

    Logo: The main logo design translates the dramatic and coordinated feel of a performance into a clean, typographic mark.

    Icon: A standalone icon was designed based on the conductor of an orchestra. The conductor is the symbolic figure who sets the pace and direction for the music; a perfect parallel for a well-orchestrated cafe experience.

  • The color palette was strategically chosen to reflect the inherent theatricality of the theme.

    Shades of Red: The brand utilizes three distinct shades of red as the core color palette. Red was chosen to signify the rich, intense, and dramatic feel of the Opera genre, creating a passionate and memorable brand identity across all packaging and signage.
